BIRTH DOULA

“Doulas do not fly in with their super capes on. They come in and help you tighten your own.”

As your Birth Doula, Mary-Anne will support you in many ways; from enjoyable antenatal meetings together, creating your birth environment, assisting you with appropriate birth positions, introducing you to breathing techniques, to massage to keep you calm and relaxed or providing that amazing counter pressure that so many mothers enjoy… to name a few.

Mary-Anne will give you confidence in your own amazing abilities and support you in whatever way you choose to give birth.

She will help you have an empowering and positive birth experience where you may well enjoy reliving this amazing day over and over again.

*Mary-Anne is a recognised doula and completed a doula training course with developing doulas, however, Mary-Anne is not medically trained.

As early as possible. It then gives us more time to get to know each other. That said, do still get in contact if your baby is almost due, its never too late.

Will You assist with a caesarian?

Yes definately - I would love to support you. However, it will be dependant on the view of your Midwife or Consultant Obsteatritian, or their hospital policy. I will be there for as long as possible before and after the birth.

I will support you in a homebirth and hospital birth. I tend to say call your doula when you feel like you aren’t managing quite as well on your own and Ill get to you as quickly as possible, this is usually at home and we then either birth there, or travel to hospital together.

Do You support still birth & miscarriage?

Most definitely, birth is birth. I have personal experience in supporting in still birth and my aim is for all birth to be empowering for mum.
