what is a birth doula?

Mothering the Mother...

A Birth Doula provides continuous support for the whole family through pregnancy, birth and the early days/ weeks of parenthood. Filling a role that new mothers and families have always needed, a doula will listen, give confidence and never judge. We offer flexible, practical and emotional support, be it in the hospital or in the mothers home. Doulas are not medically trained.

The Birth doula role

Supporting. Educating. Loving. Listening. Respecting. Embracing. Assisting. Encouraging. Being an Advocate for

A women in labour.

We recommend getting in touch and arranging a meeting with Mumma Mac to establish if she is the right doula for you. We want to make sure that there is a natural connection between you, as she will be there at the most important time in your life. This initial consultation is free and it is worth while meeting in person. Your antenatal appointments can be arranged at a time that suits you, but we suggest the first meeting is between 30 and 35 weeks gestation and the second it round 36 weeks gestation. Please get in touch via out contact page.

On booking with Mumma MAC, we request a 50% upfront payment, to secure the booking. The remaining amount it due one week before the first antenatal appointment.

Refunds are only available should any sad and unexpected circumstances arise after pre-booking MummaMAC (miscarriage/loss of your baby), and you will therefore, not be requiring a doula,. A pro rata refund will be made dependent on the number of antenatal appointments attended.
